The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) revealed in its latest assessment that the impact of US tariffs will vary across Arab economies.

According to ESCWA, the tariffs imposed by the Trump administration will affect non-oil Arab exports to the US market, estimated at approximately $22 billion. It expected that Jordan, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, and Tunisia would be the countries most affected by the tariffs.

ESCWA Executive Secretary Rola Dashti emphasized that the Arab region stands at a critical economic crossroads. Despite the immediate challenges posed by these tariffs, they offer an unprecedented opportunity to build more resilient, diversified, and integrated economies across the Arab world.
